Wayne Christopher Waddell (born June 28, 1959) has been a general authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) since 2011. He is a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy.
Born in Manhattan Beach, California, Waddell was a missionary for the LDS Church in Spain from 1978 to 1980. He earned a bachelors degree in history from San Diego State University, where he was a member of the volleyball team. Beginning in 1984, he worked for Merrill Lynch in San Diego, California and eventually became the firm's first vice president of investments. He completed some work in the MBA program at Brigham Young University.
In the LDS Church, Waddell has also been a bishop and a stake president. From 2006 to 2009 he was the president of the church's Spain Barcelona Mission (LDS Church). From 2009 to 2011 he was an area seventy and a member of the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy.
Waddell became a full-time general authority of the church in April 2011, when he was added to the First Quorum of the Seventy.
Waddell is married to Carol Stansel and is the father of four children.
